Cultivating Compassionate Presence
An 8-week online training to support those working in:
healthcare, social and human services and education.
This course offers contemplative tools for deepening professional skills and competencies in listening and responding to patients and clients. Research reveals ongoing contemplative practices including mindfulness or meditation can also improve attention and memory, increase compassionate responses, reduce stress, increase confidence in challenging situations and renew enthusiasm. Students learn these practical resources that help foster a greater sense of self-awareness, well-being, and prevent burnout.

This course is part of our Certificate in Contemplative End-of-Life Care Program.
Continuing Education Contact Hours
This course has been approved for 8 Continuing Education Contact Hours by the Association of Professional Chaplains and by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 15607. The Association for Death Education and Counseling® has deemed this program as counting toward the continuing education requirements for the ADEC CT and FT program.

Our online courses are designed to meet the needs of busy caregivers, regardless of your location or time zone.
Students watch, listen, reflect, and engage with instructors and other course participants at any time during the week that works best for them.
Your instructor will welcome you to the course just prior to the start, will interact with you weekly during the course, and be available for questions.

We recommend 2-3 hours/week to study the course materials, complete quizzes, and engage in discussions.
To take full advantage of the contemplative practices being presented, you are encouraged to set aside 15-20 minutes daily for your own personal meditation

Each weekly unit will be open for learning on Tuesday morning at 8 am US EST.
We recommend staying on pace for each weekly unit as you move through the 8 week course period. This facilitates maximum impact and interaction with you instructor and other students.
